scarper carper is owned and run by myself, Sheridan, and my husband Peter. As a team we have - and are - working hard to provide a French carp fishing lake for an unforgettable holiday experience.

Peter was previously a Management Consultant for one of the UK s biggest holiday groups, and has been a carp angler for 16 years. He has a PB of over 55lbs which he achieved in May 2005, and has been featured in Kevin Nash s advertising campaigns. He has fished many prolific waters in the UK and France. His experience and contacts within the carp fishing industry coupled with his knowledge of tourism ensures a top quality venue at Lac de Paix. |
Our philosophy is one of no nonsense. You can expect superb customer service; we like to treat our customers as we like to be treated and our standards are high!

FAQ's
Q. What is the average size of the fish?
A. The majority of fish are high 20's & low 30's. There are several 40's and we expect 'Thelma & Louise' to top 50lbs during the 2007 season.
Q. What features are there to cast to?
A. Every swim has the option of margins and open water. Numerous features can be found on the predominantly clay lake bed. Depths range from 2 - 8 feet. There are lillies, reeds, overhanging willows and gravel bars.
Q. Can we use bait boats?
A. When booking exclusive use of the lake, bait boats are permitted.
Q. What is the best rig?
A. Keep it simple: 6 - 12 inch hook links. 18mm baits over pellet can pull out some big fish!
Q. Where is the nearest shop?
A. There is a village shop 5km away on the same road as the lake and has all the essentials - including cigarettes & alcohol. The nearest supermarket is a 15 minute drive from the lake.
Q. How many bedrooms does the lodge have?
A. None - sleep in your bivvies!
